Cheddar auf Toast

Zutaten

  • 350 g Cathedral City Cheddar Slices Savory and Spicy
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 300 ml milk
  • Brown Ale
  • 1 tsp mustard powder (alternatively: mustard)
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 8 slices of toast
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Chutney

Wegbeschreibung

  1. Melt the butter in a pan, add the flour, and mix well. Let cool.
  2. Bring the milk to a boil and then add it to the roux. Bring back to a boil and whisk.
  3. Add the cheddar, fold in and remove from the heat.
  4. Add a splash of ale and mustard to the cheese sauce. Season well with salt and pepper, and stir in the egg yolk.
  5. Pour the mixture onto the slices of toast and grill until the cheese sauce bubbles on the toast.
  6. Remove and serve with the chutney.
