- 350 g Cathedral City Cheddar Slices Savory and Spicy
- 50 g butter
- 50 g flour
- 300 ml milk
- Brown Ale
- 1 tsp mustard powder (alternatively: mustard)
- salt and pepper
- 4 egg yolks
- 8 slices of toast
- Worcestershire sauce
- Chutney
Wegbeschreibung
- Melt the butter in a pan, add the flour, and mix well. Let cool.
- Bring the milk to a boil and then add it to the roux. Bring back to a boil and whisk.
- Add the cheddar, fold in and remove from the heat.
- Add a splash of ale and mustard to the cheese sauce. Season well with salt and pepper, and stir in the egg yolk.
- Pour the mixture onto the slices of toast and grill until the cheese sauce bubbles on the toast.
- Remove and serve with the chutney.
